Wild Horses of Corolla

Among those who reside in Corolla, North Carolina debates still continue if these wild horses traveled an incredible journey from ancient shipwrecks or if they were descendants of livestock left behind by the earliest colonist. While the ancestry is unclear, one would not debate the pure majestic beauty these wild horses bring up and down the Carova beaches. The Corolla Wild horses can be found in small herds anywhere along the northern Outer Banks, reachable only by 4WD and seen in the backyards of beach homes or simply traveling down sandy roads. While you are advised to not get close to these wild horses (50 feet to be exact), they allowed me to capture them in their natural habitat.
